Summer in Holten

I'm back from Sweden and that was a nice trip. Despite the cold weather and a little car accident we had on our way home, I'm happy that I could see Karlskrona.
But I'll write about that later, probably this week, however not today. Today it's time to present a card I got on the 27th July.

It came to me from Heike, who lives in the Netherlands with her big family. Her hometown is Holten - a small village in the Eastern part of the country. It's a part of the "Sallandse Heuvelrug" National Park, taht covers a beautiful, natural area with some ravines that are the remains of the glacial period.
Holten was founded around 1230. Today it plays the role of a tourist atraction and in summer the town can be really crowded.

See the Sun Again

Ladies and gentlemen, the song first:

I remembered it just a second ago. Forgot how I enjoyed this song back in 2009. I'm pretty sure that for 3 years in hadn't listened to it at all. Time passes so quickly.

Another postcard from my auntie. She's already back in Poland and I've talked to her on the phone. She told me that she'd enjoyed writing the first card so much that she'd decided to send me another one. Thank you, auntie. :3

This one is from Barcelona. Much hotter than Lloret de Mar, as I'd heard.

Tomorrow I'm off to Sweden for 3 days - hopefully I'll bring some beautiful postcards home. I'm so excited, as I've always wanted to visit a Scandinavian country (hoped more for Norway, or Finland, but whatever. xD)

In the Spanish sun

I'm not quite sure how I should tag this postcard. I received it from my (Polish) aunt Dorota who went to Spain, so I'll probably just tag the post with two labels. Weird. :D

It's from Lloret de Mar - a place who might seem very hot, but in fact the temperatures there are similar to those in Poland at the moment. As it's visible on the postcard, Lloret de Mar is a typical tourist destination - beaches, hotels, some nice castles to visit. I'm happy for my aunt that she could be there for a few days. :)

The Bridge

I'm such a lucky little girl and I can't believe in the presence of the postcard I found in my mailbox today.
It's the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco! <3 My favorite bridge in the entire world and also the place I want to see so badly if I ever go to the USA.

Anyway, here's the prettie.

The sender, Rheanna, doesn't live in San Francisco, but she loves visiting this city. There are many cultures there that makes the whole area truly diverse. On the streets of San Francisco you can meet many musicians, playing various tunes.

I also got to know something about Rheanna's hometown - Eugene in Oregon, USA. It's known as the "Track Town USA". It even held Track and Field Olympic Traits in June 2012.

Venetian Boat Song

I had a feeling that I would receive another postcard today - and I was right. This time it's from Italy. In the picture you can see Venice.

The sender, whose name is Edoardo wrote that Venice was the most romantic and beautiful city in the world. I've already been there, in 2008, with a school choir trip - and I must say I really liked it. In the picture the gondola boats can be seen. I didn't get a chance to be a passenger in it, but I'd love to try it one day. It's incredible how the whole transport in Venice is dependent on the water. Just this makes the city unique and memorable.

The stamp is definitely one of the official, Italian ones, as you can see the country's flag on it.

Dalmatian style

Today appears to be a very nice day. The weather isn't sunny at all which seems like a blessing after 2 weeks of summer hotness. And I received my first official card from the Postcrossing site. :D

It came to me from the Netherlands after a 4-day travel.
The sender introduced herself as Ella and she chose this card for me probably due to my interest in fashion. I used to enjoy watching "101 Dalmatians", so this postcard resulted in a big smile on my face. Everything in the photo is spotted - even the walls and the carpet!
Ella wrote me some words in her native language. It's quite similar to German, so understanding it didn't cause me that many problems as I would expect. :)
I managed to translate it into the wishes of nice summer vacations and greetings from the Netherlands.

The postcard had a nice stamp with a lightbulb.

I got some stickers too. There was a time when I used to collect stickers, as probably all the little girls do at some point in their lives. :D

Greetings from Lublin

And that's how I welcome you to my blog. Unfortunately I've never been to Lublin, but today I got this wonderful postcard from my friend, Alicja, who lives there.

This card is something that I especially love - a reprint of the older one. It depicts the Botanical Garden in Lublin. Alicja says that it's very easy to get lost in it, as the people who manage the Garden don't provide any maps or helpful leaflets. It's quite big and covers a total of 21,25 hectares.
I love the Botanical Garden in Warsaw and I'm looking forward to visiting the one in Lublin in the future.

And what would a postcard be without a stamp?

I also encourage you to visit Alicja's blog with postcards. It's awesome and I admire the effort she's putting in writing it. :) And her posts are really interesting.
